Healthier Version of Chocolate Chip Cookies!!

When it comes to eating baked desserts, everyone starts drooling, isn't it? But, at the same time we all crib over the calories and weight we put on because of the intake of sugar.
So Chef Shivesh Bhatia is here with another healthy recipe for your rescue. This is the healthier version of Chocolate Chip Cookies which doesn't have Maida or flour. This does not contain normal sugar and not even butter too.
You all must be wondering that how in the universe these cookies can be baked without butter and maida. Well, not to worry the healthier version of cookies have a healthier list of ingredients.

Let's take a look over the Ingredients Required:-

1. Half cup of Ghee
2. Half cup of Jaggery Powder OR Coconut Sugar
3. 1 tablespoon of Vanilla
4. 1 cup of Whole Wheat Flour
5. Half tablespoon of Baking Soda
6. Pinch of Salt
7. 1/4 cup of Cocoa Powder
8. 1 tablespoon of Corn Flour
9. 1/4 cup of Milk
10. Half cup of Chocolate Chips
11. To top, some Sea Salt


Let's Bake, The Instructions:-

1. Take a bowl and add ghee and jaggery powder and mix well until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
2. Then add some vanilla and mix all three well.
3. In the same bowl add whole wheat flour, cornflour, baking soda, and cocoa powder and mix well to form a dough.
6. To the dough, add some milk and prepare the dough.
7. Keep the prepared dough to rest in the refrigerator for about 15 to 20 minutes.
8. Now, put the microwave on preheat at 180° Celcius.
9. Spread a baking sheet on the baking tray.
10. After 20 minutes, take out the dough and cut equal-sized balls into the baking tray.
11. Now, flatten those equal-sized balls and top them with chocolate chips.
12. Then bake it for 12 to 15 minutes.
13. And it's ready. Sprinkle sea salt over the top and cool it down.


Baking Tips:-

1. If not mentioned, do not use melted butter and ghee.
2. Always mix the sugar and butter or ghee at first.
3. To bring perfect chewiness to the cookies either use brown sugar or cornflour.
4. If you want the cookies to be thin and crispy, use more butter or ghee and lesser the amount of flour, as flour makes the cookies more cake-like.
5. It's recommended to rest the cookie dough for few hours before baking them just to allow all the flavors to mix well.
6. It's extremely important to maintain proper space between each cookie while baking as it will expand during the process.


Storing Tips:-

1. To retain the freshness and texture of the cookies, always store them in an airtight container.
2. At times we end up preparing extra dough than needed, so do not worry, place the extra dough in a container and freeze it for about 1to 2 months.
